Final Day

Friday was another relaxing morning followed by naps and then a drive to Mennifee to see Margie. Here was our morning with a few friends.




As if I needed another excuse, we went to Azucar one last time where I picked up some of their beautiful looking desserts. Mango cheesecake, tiramisu, pistachio passion fruit macaroon and more.




And we enjoyed the view down Newport Ave the main street of OB one last time.




With delicious treats in tow, we took a scenic drive out to see Margie, a neighbor from my child and more recently my host when I first moved back to Chicago in 2003. Margie has been near San Diego since 2006.
The drive out to Mennifee (near Temecula) was a little over an hour by way of the Avocado highway. So scenic and interesting.




Dinner was amazing - Margie's famous fried rice and marinated/grilled beef tips and fresh asparagus. Num. It was a perfect cap to our week in Cali.
We will definitely be going back to Cali to Cali to Cali!!
