Syncing with my Son

Just when I start to get cocky about being a mom and saying "I've GOT this", I am quickly set straight by my boy who is keeping it real by spraying me with a stream of pee, or dropping a maximum capacity bomb in his diaper, or keeping me on my toes with a major bender in the wee hours of the morning.

Through all of this, I am loving being a mommy. All of the precious moments, that you are told over and over, go by so quickly. My memory isn't wonderful (which is why I take so many photos) and I want to remember some of these moments and feelings here...on this blog.

• the feeling of beautifully natural curled eyelashes brushing against my arm as I feed Auggie
• the closeness of Auggie hanging out in the Baby Bjorn and tagging along as I do chores
• the early on squeaks that have since turned more "urgent" since someone found his lungs
• the pure intensity at which he sometimes enjoys to suck on his knuckles (Auggie is currently exempt from my mouth noises pet peeve)
• more and more that I will continue to bore you with here!

We've recently started a bedtime routine. Not just for August but for us as well. He is doing great so far. We have no expectation of perfection just trying to establish a process for all of us to relax at the end of a busy day. He has actually had some solid 4-5 hour sleep sessions...which is awesome!
