For those that don't know, our little guy was breech and as a result of his cramped up position and sitting on his legs for much of the pregnancy, he has hip dysplasia of his left hip. Within his first week in our world he was put in a Pavlik harness which is designed to keep his legs in a position so that the hip socket can grow properly and deepen for proper stability. He must wear the harness 24/7 which makes diaper changing a challenge and wardrobe options at a minimum, but overall it really doesn't bother Auggie. Wish I could say that as a new mommy, I took it all in stride. That would be a lie. I cried and was a mess when he was first put in the harness. I have since realized it is no big deal and truly, Auggie does not mind it!

Anyway, all has been going well with his hip. Within one week it was stable and not slipping easily in and out of socket. This most recent visit continues to show slow and steady improvement. looks like he has another 8 weeks of the full time harness before he transitions to a nighttime only harness. We love our doctor.
We had an appointment the same day for August's one month wellness check up. He now weighs 7lbs 14.3 oz and is 22" long. He is doing just great. We got back in another month and they said it will be like a completely different baby with all of the developmental changes he is about to undergo.
This is one proud mommy.
